student will need to raise $100 to help the service programs that the conference is planning.

Dear Round Square Representative,
It gives us great pleasure to invite your school to the 2011 Regional Round Square of the Americas Conference hosted at Appleby College, in Oakville, Ontario, from Friday, April 8 – Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Plans for this event are well underway and we are very excited for this opportunity to host approximately 130 individuals from 24 different schools! This year’s conference is themed “Unity in Community”. Unity in Community looks at how we, as global citizens, can understand our role in a world that is multicultural and interdependent, so that we may take action to benefit our communities. The conference will involve dialogues with the various members of our community who enrich it to make a difference for all.
Delegation size – We can host up to six people per school. This should include four student delegates, the Round Square Representative and the Head of School or Goveor. Please let us know if your school will not be able to participate or will be sending a delegation smaller than six.
Schools from other regions – We are expecting to have a few schools from outside the Americas region attend the conference.
Registration Deadline – The registration deadline is December 15, 2010. After that time we may offer your spot to other schools. All delegates may register online on the conference website: http://www.appleby.on.ca/unity2011/.
Conference Schedule – The conference schedule can be viewed on the conference website.
Fees – The fee for the conference is $550.00 CDN per person. This covers all expenses for those delegates staying with host families. Hotel accommodation will also be available for adult delegates, at an additional cost. More information will follow in the second mailing. After you register, we will send you an invoice with payment details. Conference fees need to be paid to Appleby College by the school and not by individual delegates.
Refund Policy – Full refund for cancellation before January 31, 2011. 50% refund for cancellation between February 1 and February 28, 2011. No refund for cancellation after February 28, 2011.
Fundraising – We are asking each school delegation to raise $200.00 (CDN). This money will be donated the community partners we will work with or lea about at the conference.
Travel – It will be easiest if you fly into Toronto Pearson Inteational Airport (YYZ).
Insurance – It is required that each delegate have comprehensive travel, accident, and medical insurance. This information will be required when registering.
Pre-/Post-Conference Tours – More information will follow in the second mailing.
