"Peace One Day Event" Sept 17 - 18, 2010 at CSIA
Let''s make this day a great success and our contribution for "Peace One Day" for CSIA as the actual day which it will be celebrated as a 24 hour cease-fire all around the world is on Sept 21, 2010 (unfortunately the day before Chuseok)! (see the web-site for more details www.peaceoneday.org)
As preparation for the "Peace One Day Event" from now until September 15 the Senior Round Square Committee will be organizing a book and rice drive in order to donate to the Gapyeong Volunteer Center.
(가평자원봉사센터)www.gpvc.org
The center will distribute to families and schools who are in need.
We are hoping for books in both Korean and English that are still in good condition.
Rice can be donated in bags from 1 Kg, 3Kg, 7Kg etc up to 20 Kg. (not expired please!)
There will also be a musical performance for peace in the evening, Sept 17, and we would welcome performances by individuals and groups.
Please register your names with Elaina Gabb (Text message 010-8699-5130)
There will be a soccer game with a "SayTauMin" school & discussion forum in Korean about ideas for peaceful re-unification of N / S Korea.
T-shirts & pins will be sold to help fund the event. We may also be raising money to
build a peace school in the Philipines (This is not decided yet)
Elaina Gabb (Vice-President of RS Committee) will be coordinating from the student side, and Mr. Gabb, Dr. Richardson, Mr. Han (Global) and Ann-Kristin will be helping from the staff side. You can bring your donations to the Global Office until we have an alteate location set up.
I hope CSIA can give generously to help these families for the Chuseok holiday time.
Please sign up for the soccer team (HS only for the moment); evening performance (any grade level ok); volunteer to help and bring your donations from home!
Thank you for your support and interest!!!
