2016 is Round Square’s 50th Anniversary year, which makes it very appropriate that the Round Square Inteational Conference for 16 to 19 year olds will be hosted in Europe next year, where Round Square was bo. The two confirmed host schools, Stiftung Louisenlund and Aiglon College, will run their programmes almost concurrently with a slight overlap, beginning in one location with arrivals and the opening ceremony on 9th October and in the other location with arrivals on Monday 10th and the opening ceremony on Tuesday 11th October. Departures from both schools will be 6 days after arrivals. Planning is well underway with the theme already agreed (but to be announced by students at the RSIC 2015) and excellent plans for the programme, activities and adventures are already coming together.
In addition to the RSIC, our Anniversary year has prompted us to take a look at conference provision across the Round Square network. In order to widen access, to experiment and innovate, and to celebrate the milestone that is our 50th year, we have three further school-hosted conferences to showcase and open to all Round Square member schools worldwide in 2016.
From 4th to 10th January 2016, Daly College in India will host a conference for Round Square students aged 11, 12 & 13 from any Round Square school, worldwide. The delegation size will initially be four students and one adult though this may be increased if there is sufficient scope to do so.
In April 2016, St. Stithians College in Africa will host a conference for Round Square students aged 12 - 14 from any Round Square school, worldwide. Details will be shared with the Round Square network in due course.
In late August 2016, Saint Andrew''s School in Florida, USA will host a conference for Round Square students aged 14 - 15 at Camp Starlight in Pennsylvania. Further details will follow later in the year
Altogether, these conferences offer a fantastic opportunity for Round Square to celebrate our 50th Anniversary in style with four inteationally-accessible conferences on four continents in four quarters of the year for four age groups, providing access to a seamless conference provision for students from age 11 through to 19.
More information will follow from the organizing schools in due course. In the meantime, we hope that you will join us in thanking them for bringing these opportunities to our network, and give serious consideration to supporting their efforts by registering delegations for as many of these conference as possible during the year
