Target population: CSIA Middle School students
Objective: Creation of Hallway poster displays for the CSIA Conference for Round Square schools
January 25th – 31st, 2015
Deadline: November 30, 2014
Categories: Group Awards (3 students-Mixed MS1 & 2 & 3; 2 in one grade is OK but not all 3)
(Gold, Silver & Bronze for each topic & personality)
Topic 1: 3 posters –First 30 years; Second 30 years; Last 10-40 years (Any of the four)
Topic 2: 3 posters - Theme: Prison experiences & their influences(Mandela, Gandhi or Moon)
Topic 3: 3 posters – Theme: History of ‘Thawing’ of Relations between N & S Korea
1953 – 1973; 1974 – 1994; 1995 - 2015
Topic 1: (more details) Four ‘Change-Makers, Global Peace-Makers, Bridge Builders Beyond Borders’
-Nelson Mandela or Mohatma Gandhi or Kurt Hahn or Dr. Sun Myung Moon
Origins or cultural roots; Life course; Legacy; Philosophical Perspective; Practical solutions
or programs for ‘Building Bridges Beyond Borders’
Topic 1: 12 awards are available (G&S&B X 4 personalities)
Topic 2: 9 awards are available (G&S&B X 3 personalities)
Topic 3: 3 awards are available (G&S&B X 1 subject (N & S Korea)
Total of 24 awards available
Specifics:
Poster Board should be made from re-cycled materials such as cardboard packing boxes.
Colored or white paper should be attached as a background
Design & content should include at least the following:
1) Title (Time period / Theme / Person’s Name )
2) Drawing of at least one scene from the person’s life
3) At least 2 printed photographs (from inteet or other sources) in context of the topic
4) Caption for each photo, explaining what’s happening and significance.
5) At least 2 A4 sides of writing (summary of that time period of the person’s life)
(Can be split into separate paragraphs distributed around the poster)
6) Explanation & Outline of ONE example of a program for transcending
cultural, national, religious or political borders
7) Three important or famous quotes in the context of ‘Building Bridges Beyond Borders’
8) (Prison theme only) Testimonials or accounts of prison life
9) Size: Minimum 600 mm X 900 mm Maximum: 900 mm X 1,200 mm

Objective: Create slide presentations to be given at the CSIA Conference for Round Square schools
in January 25-31st, 2015
Deadline: November 30, 2014
Categories: Pair Awards (Groups of TWO students, mixed between HS 1, 2 & 3)
Levels: Exceptional (will present at RS Conference in January, 2015), Gold, Silver & Bronze
Topic: Practical programs & solutions for transcending borders and building bridges
Person Focus: Kurt Hahn or Dr. Moon (4 awards for each personality – Total of 8)
Pair Awards (Groups of TWO students, mixed between HS 1, 2 & 3)
Levels: Exceptional (may present at CSIA RS Conference), Gold, Silver & Bronze
Topic: Practical programs and solutions for transcending borders and building bridges
Person Focus: Mandela or Gandhi (4 awards for each personality – Total of 8)
Individual Awards (Any student from HS 1, 2 & 3)
Levels: Exceptional (may present at CSIA RS Conference), Gold, Silver, Bronze (Total 4)
Topic: Theme: History of ‘Thawing’ of Relations between N & S Korea

Content Guidelines:
1) Format: Powerpoint or Prezi
2) Time restrictions: 20 – 25 minutes
3) Explanation of programs and solutions proposed by the specific person
4) 20 – 40 slides or screen images
5) Based on these programs create ‘Proposed Resolutions’ to live by
